Dr. Rajagopalan Thiruvengadathan received Ph.D. (2002) in the field of Thin Films from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi with specialization towards materials physics. He has over fifteen years of postdoctoral research experience till date at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, USA, as a visiting scientist at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel and finally as a research assistant professor at University of Missouri – Columbia, USA, previous to joining Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, INDIA in 2014 as Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication. He is also an adjunct research assistant professor at University of Missouri – Columbia. His numerous publications peer reviewed journals and many conference presentations stand testimony to his vast expertise in the synthesis, characterization and testing of a rich variety of nanostructured materials including silicon, carbon nanotubes, graphene, metal oxides, metals and polymers with specific focus towards application development. He had received grants for his projects during his tenure as a research faculty in USA. As a co-inventor, he has received two US patents. He is a member of the Technology Team at University of Missouri, Columbia that received Nanotech Briefs’ Nano50 2007 Technology Award for Nanoengineered Superthermites and Shock Wave and Energy Generation. He has received over 1200 citations till date. He is a member of editorial board for the SCI journal, “Materials Science in Semiconductor Processing†and he is also recognized as an official reviewer for many reputed journals like Materials Research Express, Nanotechnology, Microsystem Technologies, Combustion and Flame, Journal of Applied Physics, 2D Materials etc.
